The concept was to gather the sounds of the traditional elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water and make music from them. So I spent a few months making recordings of these sounds.

And then only using those unique samples I composed 4 tracks, each of which is made up from only their particular sound samples.

Although I have stretched, cut and modulated the sounds, I think that the essence of that element's audio quality, it's song, still comes through. Water sounds like water, fire sounds like fire, air sounds like the wind and earth is heavy and durable.

The 1st piece is a combination of the 4 songs, a layer from each song is overlaid to create a song of its own. An elemental concoction as a prelude of what's to come.

I had no idea how this would turn out when I started sampling fires, waves, winds and mud. The resulting sounds seemed to suggest how the composition went.
